What’s Your Biggest Regret

Reading Time: 2 minutes

As I watched this video, I asked myself the same question. What is my biggest regret? I thought about it for a while and decided my regrets could be categorized into 4 areas: 1) things I did not do because I was afraid; 2) things I did not say because I was afraid; 3) places I did not go because I was afraid and 4) people I did not meet because I was afraid. It was really impactful for me to see that FEAR was the reason behind most of my regrets. What a different world we could have if we gave no place to fear. Second Timothy 1:7 says that the Lord did not give us a Spirit of Fear but of power, love and a sound mind.

I believe the absence of fear would change our lives. We would forgive quicker because we would not fear getting hurt again. We would mess up a lot more because we would not be afraid of failing. We would speak up more because we would not be afraid of people. The Bible gives clear instruction on how to not fear and this is simply to believe that He who is in us is greater than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). We must chose to believes what the Word of God says about us rather than listen to the voice of fear. God’s Word framed the worlds (Hebrews 11:3) and it must be the framework for ours because His Word will not return void (Isaiah 55:11).

God is good and His thoughts toward us are good (Psalm 139:17). He has a future for us and it has a hopeful end (Jeremiah 29:11). God is on our side; whom shall we fear (Psalm 27:1) and most importantly, it is impossible to please God without FAITH (Hebrews 11:6).

Let’s choose to forgive ourselves for missed opportunities and start believing in things we cannot see knowing that we are in the palm of HIS hand!
