My passion is writing about overcoming disease, the fallacy of the New Age movement and how science and psychology are proving the Bible was right all along.
Eleven years ago I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis, Hashimoto’s Disease, and several other autoimmune diseases. I understand both, physical and emotional turmoil that occurs with a chronic condition. I love working with people diagnosed with incurables. We are overcomers not as victims and Jesus made it possible for us to ‘…recover ourselves out of the snare of the devil…” (2 Timothy 2:26).
I believe that Jesus Christ still heals today just as He did in the Gospels. I have experienced healing from steroid-induced osteoporosis and Lupus. I still struggle with Rheumatoid Arthritis. (I have much more info about my journey here). While being totally healed supernaturally is what I truly desire, it is not what I have experienced so far. I have spent many years studying the spiritual roots of disease and received much emotional and spiritual healing through that process. I have had countless ministries pray over me, I proclaim and declare healing scriptures daily and yet I still fight every day to function. However, I have a joy and a peace that passes all understanding which is really a miracle. I still believe in healing, I believe God is good and has good things for us (James 1:17, Psalm 34:8).
My background is varied and I have used all of it in the process of overcoming and dealing with chronic pain and disease. I graduated from Texas A&M in 1992. Gig’em Aggies! I was a Diplomate of Chinese Medicine and a Licensed Acupuncturist. I had a thriving practice in North Dallas and specialized in Pain Management and Post-Surgical Rehabilitation. I have an M.S. in Motor Control which is a field of study combining psychology, neurology, and kinesiology. I became interested in the emotional and psychological aspect of chronic pain after experiencing it myself and seeing many of my patients contend with this evil. I obtained a Ph.D. in Christian Counseling to help those suffering
My belief is Isaiah 53:5
But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed.
