No Longer Slaves by Bethel Music

Questions for Thought:

  1. What does being a child of God mean to you?
  2. Do you compare your Heavenly Father to your earthly father?
  3. How is being a son different than being a friend?
  4. Compare Romans 8:15-16 to John 1:12-13.
  5. Does this knowledge change your view of yourself?

1 John 5:18 – 21

Affirmation: I am born of God and the enemy cannot touch me. 1 John 5:18

We know that whosoever is born of God does not sin; but he that is born of God keeps himself, and that the wicked one does not touch him.  We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one. And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life. Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.

Whom Shall I Fear by Chris Tomlin

  1. Is Jesus Christ Lord of your life? Is there anything in your life that you place above Him?
  2. What do you think ” the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one” means? Compare with Ephesians 2:2.
  3. What does it mean to you that the ‘wicked one’ aka Satan cannot touch you? Do you believe it?
  4. Does this passage give you assurance of your standing with God? Does it give you confidence to live boldly for Christ?
